[Jacobs]NTU Gound Macro Photography Outing (Photo)

Thanks, Jacobs for taking the effort to organise this outing.

David, after seeing your photos, I hesitated to post mine - now, it's really obvious what the difference is between a guru and a novice. I definitely need to have a good DIY diffuser as most of my shots appeared harsh.

Comments and criticism welcome, so that I can be at least half as good as you guys:

Dominic, please don't say it this way.
in my opinion, your shots flash are not that harsh as you thought.
Shoot more and learn along the way...you can achieve it too. :)

Build a diy diffuser to replace the std one should even out more on the lighting.

Nice shoots everyone.... I can see more people into macro photography recently.;)

Wah! Don't know who to start. Nevertheless, everyone had their very good shots. Glad meeting you guys and of course my family doctor, Adrian.

Jacobs had done a great job also in organising this gathering. In my opinion, not that many to shoot due to some clearing of vegetation. Yet some were please with their catch.

Good works! all and see you next time.

Hi Dominic i hope this will help give you some idea puting your diffuser.

Admire of your reverse lens shots...:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks Jacobs! It's so nice to hear a comment like that from you...

Melvin, beautiful bee shots, lighting is just right. Did you use the tripod? The shot with the pollen flying around is great stuff!
Daddy Bear, nope all were shot handheld. It's quite difficult to get the shot of the bee with pollen flying coz that bee was very active and keep on moving/flying. I set my shutter speed to 1/200 and boost a bit on my ISO to 400 to compensate... I was lucky I got that shot... Thanks!

Guys great shots so far, too bad can't go due to last min work commitment.

> Jacobs, love the ladybug and the termites!

> MeisterSG, love the bees, seems like you have a thing for bees + pollen ;p

> GRbenji, love the praying mantis, nice! :)

Keep the picture coming guys :)
Thanks galmen....
