Hey all,

Thanks again to Jacob for organizing the event and for guiding me.
My apologizes for leaving midway.. Last minute stuff Zzz...

I dun have any macro lens/setup so my shots were taken with a 18-200.
Below are some of my shots:
C&C greatly appreciated.

Shot 2:

I like this shot as the edge of the flower is blue in color. Apparently its too small/light to be seen in this image.

Shot 3: Lollipop =p

I know this image's DOF is too shallow.. One of my first few shots.. But i like the details of the wings & the 'huh' look on the DF =p

What's a good start..
Shot more pal, practice make perfect.

Here are the basic concepts for macro shot:

1. Place the flash as close as possible to the subject. This keeps the duration of the flash very short.
2. Angle the flash appropriately such that your subject is properly lit.
3. Diffuse the light from the flash as much as possible.
4. Set your camera in manual exposure mode, and let the camera expose the subject via the flash.
5. Set the shutter speed at flash synch speed (read your camera manual) or a bit slower. This lets the flash properly expose the subject.
6. Set your aperture at f/16 (or so) for sufficient depth of field.
7. Set your ISO in combination with the shutter speed such that your background does not “turn to black.”
8. Preset the focus distance on the lens so that you get the desired subject magnification, and physically move the lens back and forth until you achieve perfect focus on your subject.

Sorry to all outing member because I late then let ur wait. Thanks to Jacobs for organising the Outing, borrow me your DIY diffuser and share so must knowledge with us. Below is the photo I take. Njoy viewing and C&C is welcome.

Hi Jacobs,

Thank you for organising the event. Really enjoy the outing and learn a lot of thing from you and others. Below are some shots from mine. I still dont have macro lense (and even diffuser). All shots below are taken with my kit lense + ET. As you said bro Jacobs, my picture is too harsh. Please C&C. Thanks

Sorry the pictures that i posted is a bit too small compare to others. I still don't know how to post the picture in bigger size. I only able to select "medium size" in my flickr. Is it because my flickr account is free one?

Thanks Jacobs for organizing another successful macro outing. Really enjoyed your outing.

Here is some of my sub standard shots.
