Further up susukino, is the shopping arcade - much like bugis village only bigger and neater.

And they have.. SUMMER SALE - wohoo.

Yeah ladies can go crazy with shopping so its a good time to go if you want to get a hold on cheap J' fashion. Sale items go for 2000 Yen otherwise it normally costs 4000 - 50% off.

Great deal. You can get authenic yukatas for 5000 Yen for the whole set - including robe, shoes and obi (the ribbon)

Summer also marks the start of the Tanabata festival otherwise known as the star festival - which is much celebrated in japan. It's a Japanese tradition where people write their wishes on tanzaku papers (colorful, small strips of papers) and hang them on bamboo branches.

The decorations you see in the pictures are for the festival.

Took a subway to ODORI district at night which is pretty much like orchard's paragon in singapore.

It was surprisingly quiet and most of the shops were already closing by 830pm.. The Odori TV Tower (yeah sponsored by panasonic.. haha) is near the station too and you can go up and view the night scape of the city for about 700 Yen.

Hey thanks. Im using canon 400D. Most of the shots are taken with my 17-40 F4 L lens along with some standard filters: Circular Polarizer, GND 4 and ND8 filters.

I also brought my 100mm macro lens to shoot flowers. They are pretty in Hokkaido, esp during spring and summer.

Japan is a great place! I hope you have fun :)

Just went up the TV Tower yesterday. I must say there are so many reflections within on the boundary glass it makes taking night shots from the top difficult. Oh well will see wat happens when i get back

Saw lots of places that you went thru. Including Mr Racoon as well ;)

Day Three - Morning

On the road to moerenuma park! - Must go for photographers - the glass pyramid is beautiful during sunset. Also there's a musical fountain performance in the evening.

There are many mini-hills over at the park.. And you can oversee the surroundings from its peak.

Lol yeah maybe you could've tried using a tripod + polarizer.

You should visit Mt Moiwa while you're at Hokkaido. Go at night. Its really beautiful. Ill post pictures of it later.

g-khoo,
many beautifull pictures. Thanks for sharing.

nice series... great work...

Thanks guys.

Day Three - Night

Went to visit Mt Moiwa. Here you can see the whole of Sapporo town from atop the mountain.

Entry pass is 900 Yen for the skycable car. There are electric trams you can take from the city town center that stops at Moiwa Ropeway station. Its a 12min walk from there on.

Thanks.

Er do you mean the HDR shots? They are done using a prog. called photomatix and further processed in PS.

Otherwise the other more "normal looking photos" i just did color, tonal adjustments and sometimes vignetting.
