It's PMA 2010! A700 successor!

My A700 looks nicer than the successor. Anyway function is more important than form and if the A7XX does have all the A550 function + improved AF + micro adjust, might consider one for the future.

Based on PMA pictures all over the net, seems cannot find the MFC LV button. My attraction now is the Sigma 8-16mm and Sony 500mm F4. Nice to have something wider as wide angle zoom for APS-C sensor DSLR. I wonder whats the SRP like.

OT : Just played for 4 days with CZ 16-35mm and Sony 70-200mm G last week and not too crazy about them. The Sigma and Sony suit my style of shooting more.

If the A700 MK II has LV, can a manual focusing screen be installed?

Prefer ISO & WB button over LCD on top, new video capability is waited by most.
Mirrorless system is a welcome also, confirm no in body anti-shake? If Olympus can do that, there shouldn't be technical issue for Sony to do the same. Unless they really want slightlysmall size body? But the lens can never be too small anyway.
When will the A900 successor out though?

Shld be confirmed theres no IS in body. Probably a cost decision, to test the market without IS for first few models. Plus Sony going to design their own new lenses for this system , so like what some has mentioned , earn more $$ ba.

Maybe the camera is meant to be super compact ?? woot , I read that the adapters from A to E mount will be USD 300 =S. Lets hope the MF lenses adapter would be available too , but I severely doubt so haha.

If not allow to use older lens with SSS on mirrorless body and yet the adaptor is too expensive, less existing Sony user will switch to this and may consider other brands, as ther are not much cost advantage of keeping the same system.

Yah  agree. I think for the mirror less system , many would have the intention of only puting a fast and wide prime , or short zoom. At least that will be my intention . If the startup cost is so high , no point sticking to the Sony E system , unless theres other winning factor =)

One thing I can think of are better HD Video , auto focus , outstanding interface and Sweep Panorama and twillight mode !

im just disappointed that The EVIL system doesnt come with body IS.

It could be that the body is too small to fit the body IS, but realistically thinking, im sure its for commercial purpose (lens IS = more revenue)...
I doubt more revenue is the reason for no in body IS.

For consumer cams, IS is already a norm in P&S. Take M4/3 for example, to compete with P&S, IS has to exist in every lens that has the room to accommodate it, only pancake lenses will not have in-lens IS, mmmm...pancakes:lovegrin:

Don't worry, all the lenses will be overpriced so you don't have to complain about some being cheaper because they don't have IS. That's how it is done, in M4/3.

Oh my gosh.

I was waiting for the new a7xx to come out so i can get a a700 cheaper, but i am so tempted to upgrade to the new a7xx :x

Exactly the same thoughts, when Sony launches the build-in SS in body, many think that the it will be cheaper to own a setup with antishake. But all is wrong, the lenses does not cost cheaper but the same even more especially the CZ ones...

The current 70200 without IS already cost a bomb, can't imagine the one with IS.

if the A700 pictures are for real, I would welcome the fact that they had changed the switch buttons to the front so you can operate the on/off switch with one hand :D :D

and if it retains the same qualities as the original A700 PLUS better noise control like the A550.. then its a winner in my eyes liao.:)

If a lens without IS already cost a bomb, do u think the price will remain the same or be even more expensive if they add lens IS?

Wah sian. I thought the A700 successor would look as solid as A700. Now it looks like A550. zzz. I seriously hope that the final product will not look like that. And that top LCD screen is a little bit too small.... and looks a bit gimmicky... imo.

If you guys look properly, the body having the two screws which are almost the same design as the current sony full frame and A700. So i guess, it is made of magnesium alloy body. So still not that bad. Maybe they might add weather proof too? So source in website also stated that it might be the 1st 15fps dslr and 1st dslr which start video recording once you press the shutter button without delays. So just wait for the confirmation again.

Think it should still follow the a700 DNA to be at least with moisture seal. The 15fps & AVCHD recording would make it a real attractive buy.

Who knows, Sony may even get the press to try out the 500mm F4 with the a7xx during the world cup .

Yups, that what i heard from 1 of the beta users in singapore on that A7xx series. They said it's a sport dslr. So hopefully it is true.

i would think unless Sony's famous built-SI included in this camera then is good :)

Sony should just post a teaser of maybe the shutter sound from the a7xx
