D30 was Canon's first.

Nikon's D1 was world's first.

I think D3 does not come with dust reduction feature. D300 comes with dust reduction feature.

RobGalbraith says that the sensor in the D3 is a Nikon designed sensor (as was the sensor in the D2H/D2Hs) and that Nikon has not revealed who the manufacturing partner is (since Nikon is one of the top two stepper manufacturers, they would probably have a few choices of customers they could use as a manufacturing partner)
