you should see the replies my friends got from this "Raphael Solis" when they told him that it was wrong to stress the puffer like that.

Basically he said something like "yes i know it's cruel but it's so cute and we just want to take a picture. next time i wont hold on to it but just shake it so it puffs up" -- not in so many words and grammatically correct english, of course.

i'd like to know who's his "instructor" Wilson Terng (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=725214241) is. apparently that's the guy who was taking the pictures.

finally, what does SDI divers mean?

I think it stands for Scuba Divers International. Locally i think Friendly Waters teaches the courses not sure who else. And i just found out it's the recreational wing of TDI.

There were some HK divers grabbing onto a big puffer at Layang Layang and laughing away earlier this year... boy, did they get an earful from my friends when they surfaced... one of them mumbled "sorry" which set off my friend again who shouted "Say sorry to the fish!!" :bsmilie::bsmilie:

At the rate that that diver and his instructor are going, probably sooner or later they will be injured by some marinelife or take unneccessary risks in attempting difficult dive sites.

You guys obviously don't fish. I'm not 1 for cruelty of course but the diver isn't exactly "harming" the cute puffer. A hook in the mouth hurts much more. You get some in Singapore waters and most fishermen throw them back in the sea.
