I previously bought from the US (desperate for the model I wanted) so I really checked thoroughly but everything was smooth. The 85mm Canon lens was great. I asked the seller so many questions about shipping, how he'll pack and with what materials etc etc that it was a miracle he didn't pass out! Guess there was a bit of luck too.
Of course, if we can buy it locally, we'll make a beeline for it. :bsmilie:

Hi everyone, I just bought a twin lens kit E-P1 yesterday.
Wanted to check if the default memory card in the box is 512mb?
I only realised it when I removed the card from my camera to transfer the test shots.

I got a 512mb in the camera and two 8gb cards. The 512mb was probably put into the camera for me to test and the sales person did not remove it. So I guess I got an extra freebie.
Looks like stocks for the E-P1 is quite limited. I have been hunting around for a few weeks. Courts and Harvey have no stocks while Best Denki seems to have 1 or 2 sets but not the twin kit and silver model till yesterday when I stopped by the Bishan branch before catching a movie.

after waiting for 2 weeks after paying (in instalments) for the E-P1 at Funan Harvey Norman and no news from them at all, I finally went down and asked the salesman directly. At first he told me Olympus side will have news in the next 2 days. I told him this is already the 3 week, pls try to expedite it. He made a few phone calls, to whom he claimed were product manager and duno wat manager of Oly. and told me Oly says that they are holding the White models, and won't bring in the White models anymore. This is due to the white paint issues, he claimed Oly said the paint peels and turns yellow, so Oly will not ship anymore white models for now. My immediate response was that, either Oly didn't tell the retailers to stop taking orders for white models, or he didn't check. I just told him that i'm not trying to be difficult but a sales agreement like that is a legal contract, if HN is unable to deliver, its a breach of contract. I dun care what happens between HN and Oly, i just want my item, if not, HN is responsible. He did all he could to convince me to take a silver model, but my point is, being promised the White model, i had already spent $200 on the white leather case, and i placed a 'pre-order' so i could get a set asap, but apparently ppl are getting their hands on dual lens kits at other places like Best Denki.

Bought the zoom lens (silver), sold away my black version and want to get the silver one (with silver filter) so that it matches my silver E-P1 body.
Bought it at www.tokyotoyz.com and I cannot believe when I order on Tue night, I got it via SPEEDPOST on Thu afternoon!

Sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience with HN. This is rare from what I have heard from other HN customers. I think this is something that HN management can fix. I don't think I have heard about white paint issues with the E-P1... maybe I need to get updated from Olympus.
But nevertheless, instead of raising a fuss over at CASE and making everyone look bad, why don't you ask for a manager to speak to and ask them to work out something for you? And just tell him nicely that all stunts can save, just be honest about what happened and do something to make up for the mistake and everyone can be happy... after all, if they handle this well, you might be a returning customer.
I will try to verify if the white paint issue is real, or else someone's head is going to roll...
Please kindly PM me on the details of the outlet you went. Let's not make it public, and I will investigate this matter as well.
