Actually after reading the Harvey Norman and Courts deals here i think i want to get from there. but all no stock. the biggest Millenia Harvey Norman also dun have..Anyone has news of Courts or Harvey Norman carrying White Dual lens kit?

Hi

I've browsed through the m43 system thread and found that the E-P1 can mount so many different makes of lenses, like:

Voigtlander
Nikon F
Pentax K
Canon

That is really cool. I'm wonderiing does metering work with these "3rd party" lenses?

And all brands need their own adapters right?

Edit: Ok, i just saw Chiif thread of the adapters and lenses for m4/3.

Any one tried the Lumix 14-140mm on the E-P1?
Is the lens too big and heavy for the cam?

Metering works,IS works as well but need to manually input the focal length

I think Microcosm might have,I've tried the GH1 with 14-140,even on the GH1 it is not very well balanced and is very heavy,i believe it is the same for the E-P1

Anyone know where can buy step up ring for the 14-42 kit lens? Seems like its not available anywhere for the uncommon 40.5mm size.

Olympus Zuiko 11-22mm F2.8-3.5 - compatible with E-P1 with adaptor?

I'm thinking of getting that but means the dual lens are not really necessary anymore. Does anywhere sell just the body of E-P1?

all four thirds lenses are compatible with the adaptor,i saw that B&H got body only

All Four Thirds lenses are compatible with the E-P1 and adapter... however, autofocusing is slower with the older lenses not designed for CDAF like the 11-22mm.

Is the Sigma 30/1.4 designed for CDAF or is it upgradable to accomodate CDAF btw?

I don't think Sigma ever designed any lenses specially for cameras with CDAF since their own DSLRs don't even have Live View. Live View in Panasonic and Olympus DSLRs on the other hand has evolved to CDAF and their newer lenses were designed to take this into account or could be upgraded by firmware to work with CDAF eg. the Leica 25mm f/1.4 was not CDAF compatible when it was first released but was made CDAF compatible thorugh a firmware upgrade later on.

In any case, Sigma's Four Third lenses will still autofocus on the E-P1... just a bit slower only. The same can't be said for the G1/GH1 though.

not sure, never seen any shops selling body only so can't compare

12-60 SWD works on E-P1 with adapter MMF-1. It's focusing speed is fast. At time it hunts. I believe it is firmware issue. No FD though. By the way, this combination consume lots of juice!

i just realised when the original leather bottom casing is on, u can't mount E-P1 on a tripod? =[ correct me if i'm wrong..

It also covers up the battery and SD card compartment and the usb port which we need to access more frequently than we need to mount the camera on a tripod. ;)
