Hoya filters come in different grades and correspondingly different prices. If you are using a cheapo grade, then it would not be as good as the higher grades. Personally, for Hoya, I would never use any grade lower than HMC.A strange thing that happen to me. I am using E-P1 with the 4/3 adaptor and with a ZD 25mm pancake lens. I notice a strange flare of light whenever I am indoor shooting. Usually a reflection from the TV or something, and the light is very "ghostly". But when I remove the UV filter from HOYA, it will not have any strange flare. I change to a BW filter, it is ok too.
Is there something wrong with HOYA filters?
Anyone knows the answer?
