When is FZ5 going to arrive at PSA port? When is it going to come out to the market?
I have at least 2 potential customers for you who are here waiting for it patiently...dun make them lost their patient and go and get something else...

Thanks keith, at least having a bigger EVF would help in the shot making process.. cos I find it really hard to see and focus in that little screen. and yet when using LCD, the arms are away from the body, so more likely to get handshake. :sweatsm:
I'm guessing you face this problem due to the small EVF. I have taken indoor shots where the focus was elsewhere, but because its so dark, cannot tell its not in focus. Pray real hard that Pana comes up with some sort of solution this this dark EVF that does not gain up automatically in dark areas.
In your case you will know if the camera is unable to focus. The FZ10 indicates focus lock with a green indicator spot in the EVF and a beep (if sound is on). I know how to deal with it being too dark to focus but the problem I am referring to, was the exact opposite. It was a hot sunny day and the birds were either framed against a cloudless sky or a bright sea. In one instance, I was targetting a large raptor winging towards me from as far as a mile out but could not get focus locked until it had gone pass overhead and all I got was a tail shot obscured by branches. That is way too long for a F2.8 ED lens to focus. Immediately after, I tested aiming back along the direction of the birds flight path, at a tanker at sea and couldn't get focus to lock on either. In some other shots of the birds including stationery targets, I got "focus locked" indication before I took the shot but when I reviewed them, I found that nothing at all, not a twig, was in focus. Then in a few, when I got the focused indication, I did get acceptably well focused shots. So it was definitely not a case of focusing at the wrong spot but autofocusing acting strange.
I had almost similar problems shooting gulls in flight in Kunming about a month ago. That time the birds were within range of my film SLR and when I switched to it. In the same conditions, it not only achieved focus almost instantly but also remained in focus as I tracked the gull's flight.
Anyway, since my FZ10 is still under warranty, I have sent my cam in with the teleconverter, the battery and the card containing shots I had not deleted (basically the same setup I used) to be diagnosed. I am waiting to see what they find out.
