if you find any grammatical error which disturbs you deeply in another thread, i guess it's always better to point it out in that thread itself, or use the pm function. why put it here for all to see?
mhmm..great way to clock up post counts..since "lense" is used so often..:bsmilie:

.....if you check the my earlier posts, I did mentioned that I struggle with my grammar too, why pick on others on their grammar ablilities in an open forum, even in exams, examiners are told to overlook grammar flaws in certain subjects, as long as the arguments make sense or contents are there. We are here to here knowledge and experience, by picking out and examples from across the forum, you are making some people conscious, and possibly discourage people from speaking out.
if no one points out the error, that person will never know.

i do make mistakes now and then, and i only realise them when others point them out to me. that's part and parcel of learning.

not sure what you're talking about :dunno:

by the way, 'lense' is a correct spelling.

i don't think this thread is a good place to point out specific member's grammatical mistakes. it's always better to raise the problem where it happened.

Hahaha, like he said, he needs to be corrected, now we understand why.....

"lense" is deemed correct because many people mis-spell it. it's unlisted in oxford and american dictionaries. but if you insist, no one will stop you from using it

right.. you will never know your mistakes/errors if no one points out..

but hey, isn't it better to pm the person who made spelling or grammatical errors in his post than to post up the link to their thread here?

what you have done here is more like to humiliate others for their errors.. that's what i sense from your posts..

point noted.

different ppl intepret different things differently i guess.

ok, this word is listed in some dictionaries, and not listed in some dictionaries, so you're saying that it is wrong to use it? it's not even to the extent of Singlish where some words are not even found in any dictionaries.

your attitude reminds me of my Taiwanese classmates who insist that their pronunciation of many Chinese words are correct and those from China are wrong.

which dictonaries list it? online dictonaries aren't that accurate. if you want:

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/lense

Not happy? Can go edit =)

I better adjust my shuttle speed when I put in the new scandisk card.

why don't you guys edit this one

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/lense

so which authority said that online dictionaries aren't accurate? you might want to find out,

i'm not the one complaining anyway :bsmilie:

thats the reason why i said online dictionaries aren't accurate. because some list it some do not list it. so are you telling me all my printed dictonaries and electronic dictionaries which do not list it are inaccurate by your count?

o_O

well no point arguing. later mods lock this thread. you can stick with your spelling and i'll stick to my spelling. tata!

don't put words in my mouth. since when did i say printed dictionaries are not accurate? i'm asking you, that word is not found in your dictionary, does that make it's usage void? Singlish is not found in many dictionaries, so i cannot speak/type Singlish?

the point is to make yourself understandable, not pick over little things like this
