lancey's got loads of beach shots in his street/candids thread too....

precisely why i was so taken aback by that last post.

what i mean is a beach is literally not a street (pun intended as per title of thread)...but the definition of street photography cannot be taken literally is what i am saying. Obviously TS's beach shots are classified as SP unless moderators go on a banal launch of redundant sub classifications such as "toilet candids" and "beach candids".

I think the the answer is obvious for those in the know.

i see, i get what you mean. nonetheless, i think it is also clear that these shots are not great (i.e. interesting) examples of SP.

I think they fall into candids..but then the use of the UWA could be better applied ...no doubt..a matter of taste perhaps but TS's few UWA beach shots add little to the inherent potential of what such lenses can do.

So if u ask me "is this street?"...i'd say "who cares?" call it anything you want if it works..or nothing if it doesnt.
