Relac lah, turn on NR and also use the Pixel Mapping... the camera is ok.
 

ar...ok lio, i went for a quick nite shoot w/ NR on...every thing is ok lio...tks!!
 

hi folks,

got question again on this hot pixel issue...i snap a few long exposure nite shoot just now and discover there's dots of color pixel even the NR is turn on. but it happen on pic is set to 2sec, 3.2sec but the dots will dieappear if the exposure is > 4sec, any issue on this? or should i send to Oly service to check? tks!!

Yeah. It's common to most camera models across different manufacturers...
Here's one from my E-330:

Note that turning on NR may not be an option as you may miss the next shot -something picture-worthy happens but you can't take a picture as NR is busy processing the current shot. NR approximately doubles the picture taking time.
 

That's the downside of OLY NR... 2 sec exposure with NR means that the camera will take a 2 sec "black frame" to minus out the hot pixels. (10 sec exposure = 10 sec black frame...)

NR only kicks in when exposures are longer then 2 sec (i think) and having NR permanently enabled will not give you access to the "burst mode" shooting function.

So what I've done is to save 2 settings under the "Reset Menu" function, one for normal shooting and one for night-shooting with NR... ;)
