Is Oly 4/3 system overshadowed by the m4/3 system?

I'm waiting for that, if its another pancake, I'm likely to get it, the Panasonic one wasn't very nice, light, but not nice

+ 1 .... just wonder how much it would cost...

as posted in another thread:

i am convinced 4/3s is off to oblivion. no more resources will be spent on producing 4/3s bodies and lenses. that promised 100mm macro will never be fruited.

probably only the e-5 series will remain. "photography" is on a downhill.

form follows money.

I think that is the message from Olympus.. that the E5 is the last of the 4/3 DSLRs but Olympus also said that going forward they would be focusing on m4/3 and that a Semi Pro PEN would be out this year.
From Toshi Terada-san's interview on biofos.com, its clear that the direction is to merge m4/3 and 4/3.

I wonder if those up there in the Holy Olyland know of the sentiments of loyal followers.
I am pretty much sadden by Oly decision to slow down(stop??) 43 n focus on m43.
Looking at GH2 form factor (which to me sits betw e620 n e520), n e5 using e3 body, why not reuse those bodies (620 n 520), change the innards, viewfinder to m43 format n keep those of us who love the dslr form factor.
Whatever it is, dont leave us in the dark, give us clearer directions to the future of our fav 43 stuff Oly!

If change the innards of 520 and 620 to m43 stuff, then it defeats the point of the m43 system, being portable,so best is just to let them all run together, but the bad thing is,that will probably not be the best from a business point of view because of the many "what ifs" that might occur

Actually... a 4/3 oly lens on the GH2 feels good. Well proportioned and balanced..

...I agree but many will agree too that 520 and 620 is more portable for their hand size;)

My idea of portability would be an E-3/E-5, at the end of the day, there is always something people will complain about, regardless

Interview with Mr Watanabe who is responsible for product planning and development.

hi there, sadly nobody offered me anything, maybe my list price is too low or maybe those that wanting to jump ship don really visit the sell-buy oly forum.

BUT, i got the E620! whahah. Someone that listed long ago forgot to chekc his PM and we met up and deal-ed over the weekend. He is such a nice guy, gave me sound advise and a few freebies for quite a lor price.

I tried a translation, but funny thing is that "Olympus" gets translated to "Austria Pakistan" (however it does get Sony & Fuji right):

While I'm not happy about the loss of the E-3xx series (I own an E-300 & E-330), I guess it's better than nothing, especially since I bought a used E-3 to hold me over until a new decent E-xxx came out again.
