Ok I read the other thread about nudity in CS....
I have no objections to pornography apart from the low production standards and corny acting most of the time.
The thing about pornography is that you don't have to feature a person nude to titilate the senses. Some really good issues of American FHM magazine and Stuff magazine have such sexy shoots that I kept some of the pictures for jerk off material when I was younger. I would call that porn (3 thumbs up)
Now, "artistic" and "porn" have one similar intention, which is the appreciation of the human form.
Anyone who's seen enough porn understands that just having a picture of a naked woman is not enough to stimulate you.
a)in "artistic" nudity one tries to find a position, angle, pose or lighting which brings out the most aesthetically pleasing form of the body which sends blood rushing up to your brain(this is a generalisation, there are exceptions of course),
b)in porn one tries to find a position, angle, pose or lighting which brings out the most aesthetically pleasing form/expression of the body which sends blood rushing down to your penis.
I think people are afraid of their penises mainly, like they're some wild beasts that will rape all the women in the world, so they do everything to control it.
To me, if you choose to do any form of photography, be it artistic or pornographic, just make sure that it is of the highest standard possible.
