Is Nikon D7000 still an "oiler"?

F16 for some lenses and some cameras is the sweet spot.
Diffraction limit is not determined by the lens alone and the aperture. It is also affected by pixel density (size of sensor and number of megapixels), size of picture, and viewing distance.
Better for you to read it up and really understand it before saying inaccurate statements like this...

hi guys, i recently just notice that my d7000 sensor has lots of oil stains. Does anybody have the same problem? What did you do? I am required to shoot at F20 most of the time as i shoot macro.
Look at the stain beside the weevil on the left. They are on both the pictures.

Those look like dust, not stains

Some dust are more stubborn and sticker then others.
Yes, all lenses. it's actually all sensors.

As I am a newbie as well, I cannot tell whether is a dust or oil stain. However, I do remember some other D7K owners comment that the oil stains normally appear at the bottom right corner of the picture and the amount could go up to 10 or more. So I would like to believe it is dust in your case. And if you really cannot clean it, it is better to send to NSC. Spending 20 or 30 bucks can settle it already.

Usually, you won't see such oil stains in new D7000s. You can google "D7000 oil sensor" and find more information then. :what:
This is all good in theory.
In practice, if you need the DOF provided by f16, f22, etc you need it.
Lens may not be at its theoretical or lab measured sharpest point, but its certainly sharp even then.
Far better than having the foreground clearly not sharp at all due to not enough DOF in landscapes.
Same thing for macro too.

I am one victim of this saga............ however, after many many many many rounds of dramas with NSC... I got a brand new replacement......... Though this oil issue haunted me for almost a yr... but I am still glad to say that I love the D7000..... So.... good luck...

I have the body for a couple of months only....so far, not a tinge of hint that the body is exhibiting this issue...

Those "Faulty" sets are of small amounts. Don't worry too much. I just don't want to take the risk.

Based on what I read from other websites (e.g. flickr), those people who raised such problems bought their D7000 at the end of last year. So I suspect that the oil problem only existed among a small amount of sets of first few batches.

May I know what lens you use to shoot these
Omg mine definitely looks like oily spots. I got my D7K early this year Feburary. Im planning to take some landscape pictures during christmas, but looking at the amount of stains on it just makes me wanna faint ~.~'' probably have to send it sensor cleaning service... i already tried mirror lock up and blowing with my rocket blower but does not help at all..
