F16 for some lenses and some cameras is the sweet spot.
Diffraction limit is not determined by the lens alone and the aperture. It is also affected by pixel density (size of sensor and number of megapixels), size of picture, and viewing distance.
hi guys, i recently just notice that my d7000 sensor has lots of oil stains. Does anybody have the same problem? What did you do? I am required to shoot at F20 most of the time as i shoot macro.
Look at the stain beside the weevil on the left. They are on both the pictures.

Just go ahead and buy. Have 2 D7000, just tested it. No oil or whatever. Sorry, i also newbie. Must we stop down so much on the aperture to check for oil spot? I mean, can't we just lock up the mirror and use a magnifying glass to see?
At F16, *most lens suffered from diffraction. I wonder why will you need to shoot at that aperture?
I have the body for a couple of months only....so far, not a tinge of hint that the body is exhibiting this issue...
Those who having or had this problem ... May I know when and where u bought the set? Just an info for those who can reference and check their set

No oil issues...
My current D7000 doesn't have it, and my previous D7000 was fine too. Both bought this year.
