Was there and saw a young guy buying the same lens, he took really long time to check the lens. Thought it could be you.

I am using this lens for walkaround too. Good lens and good performer i should say. and most important its cheaper than any L lens ;p

I would say it looks pretty respectable to me. Before you test for sharpness, you should test for front/back-focusing first, as this may be the cause of any blur.
