M8 is a fantastic camera, very enjoyable to use. Usability is almost the same as M9 or a film RF. However make sure you google on how to test the sensor (not much different from testing any other digital camera) as many M8s have red line problems at high ISO. This is usually not evident on the rear LCD but very obvious on the computer. Bring a laptop to test so you won't have any regrets after bringing it home.
I have purchased a 2011 upgraded M8 (scratch proof LCD, 1/4000 sec shutter mech, calibrated 2m VF - just like an M8.2) from a foreign site. Now sourcing for a good 28mm Elmarit ASPH to mate this with.
I still keep my M8 as my back up camera to my M240.
Sold my M9 instead earlier cause too close to my M240 and I can get back relative good value selling then.
I'll just keep my M8 as the mkt $ cannot even get me a Leica lens,...why bother selling.
Still a great B&W digital camera as there is not IR filter!
