Is it worth getting the 14-150mm lens or should I just stick with 40-150mm with MMF?

Thats why I wanted to use my 40-150 so I wont go near the viper but if only I have the 40-150 on I might be able to take the shot before the virep disappears :)

Going back to the topic: I think TS there's a lot of suggestions. If you can head down to a shop like TK Foto and maybe try out the lens see if fits you.

Oh also I heard if you use the EPL1 on-board flash it'll have some lens shadow...

With practice, can change without looking, hahahah,I look for my lens by feeling ;) but viper probably best way was to keep eye contact and slowly back off, change lens then shoot,it might have disappeared into the background rather than disappeared though

Interesting discussion. I recently bought a4-month old EPL-1 dual kit lens from a fellow clubsnapper at a very attractive price. Over the past few days I have been taking pictures with both the 14-42 and 40-150 lenses and I found the AF very satisfactory in spite of the fact that the firmware is still 1.0 (Must find the time to update it to 1.1). I agree the 14-150 lens is convenient to have while on holidays and it has been on mind whether I should purchase one.

However, having considered carefully, I think I can live with having to change lenses occasionally, even when travelling, as the type of photos I take (nature and land/city scapes) doesn't warrant quick action.

Worse come to worst, I carry my E620 +40-150 and EPL-1 with 14-42 which fit nicely into a 5m dollar Crumpler bag.

Yup,it all boils down to what one shoots,I shoot street also just mount 14-54,I usually look closer than further, same time can avoid knocking into people :bsmilie:

Currently dumping my 4/3 stuff for native mFT. The first to come in, 14-140 I chose this over the 14-150 as the IS can be used when in Video mode. The E-PL1 switches to dynamic IS..ie boasting the ISO to compensate. The in body IS do not work in Video mode.

Next will be the 20/1.7 or brighter lenses that comes announced in the coming months.

Hi anyone knows the best current price for the 14-150mm m4/3 Zuiko?

Please pm me
Thanx

Haha, its true, I can confirm it, I was using Raynox Macro converter on my 14-42 kit lens, the shadow is soo disturbing, so, if 14-42 already got shadow, imagine how it will be like on the 40-150 on close up objects. Having said that, I believe that only affect Macro shots / close up photos....

Not really sure, but flashes on the E-400 and E-500 series (except E-500) and the E-620 have a shadown when using built in flash on the wide end, so its quite possible that this affects only close up and macro shots

Ya lo and that is not good, meaning if a person takes a lot of macro photos, he/she will have to invest in an external flash. Maybe its not a problem for many people because I believe most who uses a 4/3 or at least a full DSLR would have one, but for people like me who uses a m4/3, it might be difficult as I got my evf on my camera all the time, how to use an external woah?

Err... No idea... Hahahah, probably just compromise I guess, or since the E-PL1 has wireless capability, take a FL-36R and shoot? Besides, for some guys,if not most, including myself, flash off the camera seems to have better effect, but of course, your taste may vary

Diffuse and bounce, be creative and DIY some bounce and diffuse tools lor....
