Is it still worth getting D90

You saved me a bit of money, guess I better stick to my D80 for the time being, its good enough to take nice pictures, - need to improve on my photog skills more than anything else.

Regards

well, i also would like to qualify that if the d80 does not meet your needs, since the buck has been upped on iso performance, etc...

then there is nothing wrong with getting a d90.

the thing is, most people would not use past iso800. i know i hardly do, and maybe it is because of iso performance with current camera, but i know i am happy with that. :)

Dont buy yet, wait until that pc show in suntec this week. :)

Agree with Garbled.

Just feel & try the camera at the exhibition by yourself. Only yourself can answer whether need an upgrade or not.

dun recommend to buy from IT Show, it's crowded and you don't have peace of mind to even test shot and its retail prices, the deals are not so attractive. suggest go to shops like Cathay Photo, John 3:16 to demo.

guys, did D90 drop alot of price since 2008?

quoted by John 3:16 last week
D90 body $1390
Kit 1 $1650

not much since 2008
This goes to show D90 will eventually go down in the history of Nikon as a classic like the Fm2 until today the value is worth much better than any other N-SLR

ya, the sales of D90 is so good that firstly, no point for Nikon to drop price, secondly, no point for them to introduce replacement so fast........ I think..... :p

there is something about the D90 and im glad to be a proud owner of it :)

i guess the question you have to ask yourself is: are you into photography to take nice pics that you will be proud of?

- or -

are you into tech stuff and buying the best and most up to date equipment gives you a feeling of gratification?

:)

That's a good one and so true! I notice many people are chasing after the latest gadgets these days without even having the ability to maximise the potentials. From handphones to cameras, just to show to peers that they can afford and own the best.

Do you really need the best and the latest? Or is it all about marketing?
