Is it safe to shoot in the rain?

Hey everyone,

I'll be traveling next week and I'll be bringing my M6 along. Its highly likely that I'll be experiencing rainy days and I think its interesting to take photographs in the rain. So I'm wondering if its safe to shoot in the rain, not heavy rain tho.

Hmmm..M camera is not weathered-sealed, so taking risk if using in rains. My thought as I won't even want to take chance as M6 has electronics parts. Cheers

read luminous landscape. reviewer brought it through a rain-soaked assignment and camera and meter was working fine afterwards... for a few thousand rolls.

I'm one of those that prefer to rough it out in the weather; so far no problems with an MP out in the snow at sub zero degrees (except needing to change batteries) and wiping off the melted snow, so I think the M6 can take a fair bit of beating too.

slight rain shouldn't be an issue, especially if your cam doesn't have any electronic parts.. i've got no qualms shooting my mechanical Ms in wet weather, just stick in dry cabi after shooting should be sufficient..

Why not? It's just another watch... If I have one, I would !

Btw, if film Leica bodies can't take beating from a few rain drops, it wouldn't have seen so many wars from the 30's till today... But I can't say for M8 & M9...
