Krabi's on the west side of southern thailand; the trouble spots are in the eastern side of south thailand. After having been there for a number of times in recent years, the only thing you need to worry about is drinking way too much beer (its bloody cheap there) and mistaking trans for real women.

I just came back from Krabi 3 weeks ago. It was one of the most beautiful places I have seen in a long time. Just go lar. Nothing dangrous is happening there lar. Don't be kiasi lar.....like typical Singaporean.

was in bkk during the new year when the bombing incidents occurred.
security was tighten immediately after the bombing, police was checking and scanning all individual with bags when going into public buildings. presence of army can be seen & stationed at strategic locations (eg BTS, MRTs, buildings). so i guess it is safe going to thailand.
