Hi all,
I am in big headache now....I need advice...Please...
I own a D90 for a year plus till now. I love photoshooting, more into Macro but I am not a good DSLR user...I go places shooting Macro, joint basic photoshooting lesson etc. and I still faced difficulty using a DSLR camera...It is very complicated....secondly DSLR camera is very heavy & big..nearly half a year I didnt touch it or go for photoshooting..
I still love & interested in photoshooting, I relaised that I prefer to have a compact digital camera which is small, light, can carry around easliy and can perform similar photoshooting like a DSLR camera. I am not sure is a compact camera much more easy to understanding comparing to a DSLR camera?
I am thinking of selling my D90 and get a LX3 which is small, light easy to bring along for street shooting, travels and also possible to perform macro shooting, attached filters, flash etc... I dont know, is it a bad decission to sell away D90 and get LX3.....
Seem like most of you upgrade from compact digital camera to a DSLR and is so...I am downgrading it.....
i usually carry both my compact and D700 when i go out...sometimes even a camcorder....! guess i'm already used to the weight....

Well, not so sure about it yet but I think to explore a compact camera chances will be higher then a Heavy, big DSLR camera....as I can bring it with me all days in my bag and I can try on anywhere, anytime...as days goes I should be able to pick the skills.
D90 will still be with me at the moment....
=.=... just took out to shoot some insects but...cant stand it...insect is at a level above me...I try to near it (Macro)... my hand, arm already shakes like......=.=
just a couple of months back i was in the same dilemma as you. i had a D90 and a couple of lenses. problem was, i rarely went out due to the weight of all the gear i needed to carry. perhaps i'm not as patient & wise as the others. :dunno: finally, i sold all my stuff & got myself a GF1. of course it doesn't have all the bells & whistles of the D90 but i'm very happy & satisfied with it. i now find myself shooting more, having it with me most of the time. as a newbie, i'm happy with making the most out of my panny while learning & see from here. i guess getting an LX3 won't be much different. it's just a matter of weighing what you want to learn now & see how you can do it with your camera of choice. like what i've read in the forum, the best camera is what you bring with you!
hope this helps!![]()

DSLR shooting can be lightweight too. D50 and Nikkor 50-200 VR is my lightweight combo. Add a Raynox 250 and I am all ready for macro shoots.
are you sure prosumer compact camera (e.g. LX3, G11....) are easier to use than your D90?
you will be surprised.
