Ha. my automatic Tag Heuer spoilt 5 times within 1st yr. But then I know it uses same ETA-2824 movement in many other watches ranging from Sandoz to Tudor. This doesnt mean it's not reliable but purely bad luck. The it works for another 7yrs w/o problem, I send for regular servicing and the Tag suggest I go a CLA. After CLA, they mark patches on oil stains on my white dial and refuse to wipe it off say it's original there. Can tell it's oil stain so I ring up the dunno wat manager he spend 45mins arguing wif me then I told her just open n try clean it. She called me back next day said already clean and took 5mins (why dun they try cleaning b4 they argue). After I collected my watch, I saw deep scratch mark on the back of the watch and it was cause by using a wrong size of back opener and I can feel wierd crrrrrrring sound from the gear inside. The watch become 5min slow everyday after my "CLA" paying nearly $200 and spend many hour of frastrating time. After few months, Tag suspended their agent ship and now taken over by someone else.
Ha. OT...Clubsnap is such a good place for banging frastration. Anyway, Tag quartz using U$25 battery operated calibre and most other automatic are ETA movement commonly used in other watch too. But then it's not a bad watch either. I use to work in a firm related to the agent and we buy the 2000 series at s$120 and 4000 series automatic at s$300+
