It's apparently up again. As an aside; there's supposed to be some kind of major UI revamp for Flickr coming up in a few days' time. That might have something to do with the temporary server maintenance work just now.

Hard to say... they could be refocusing their efforts. I am sticking with Flickr because of the community, the other sites don't appeal to me yet.

I'm kind of worry that after signing up... they shut Flickr down... waste of my time and effect to keep photos there

I'm optimistic that the service will still remain for a while. Otherwise; why bother with a coming major UI revamp.

In any case, even if the service is to shut down - hopefully they provide a mass downloader for users to grab all their pictures in their accounts.

Difficult to say, just look at the budget airline Air Australia which just had a makeover then close shop recently.
