WHy not its a nice affordable toy to play with, but dont spend too much on getting a filter tho, a kenko one about <$10 would suffice cause the built quality of the lens is rather rugged

This lens is a good prime lens for newbie like me with cheap price. It work good in low light condition. However, This lens is slow in focus and boket of this lens is not so smooth but acceptable. It worth to equip for your camera.

50mm is a cheap is great lens to start for prime shooting. When stop down at F2.8, it is very sharp.
