yes, if you can go to HK, the kit with 17-85IS will cost only S$1.5K after canon cash rebate (the body cost only S$1k!), even cheap than 450D body

Still can send in for service, but gotta pay for it.

The saving is a couple of hundreds dollars... so might be worthwhile...
why? If need to service the camera.... plan for a tour to HK and have fun while waiting for your camera to be repaired...

BUT !!!! the only thing is pray hard that the problem is not too big that it takes longer than your tour duration ... LOL:bsmilie:

NOTE: A friend of mine bought a 40D with kit lens, local set, and within few days, it gave problem... phew... lucky is local set, if not he need to fly again... haha....
