u mean with the IR filter on u can't focus? wah lau.. that's gotta be tough!!
Yes, after autofocusing, I'll need to manually correct the focusing distance after I mounted the filter on.

As the filter blocks all visible light, I'll not be able to compose with that filter on. Using a tripod helps me to maintain my composition, if the subject doesn't move away too much that is.

When I do handheld, I do have shots with her out of my frame due to the blindfolded composition.

The self IR portraits which I've done are carefully positioned leaves on the floor to get the autofocusing distance, mount the filter, then manual focus before I go to the spot and pose :).

wah lau.. ok.. i seriously admire ur perserverance but still the images...

aiyah.. ahah if it's out of focus it's out lar..

i am actually talking to another photog on msn now.. and we were talking about this:

no matter how good ur reason is for a bad pic, it still doesn't make the pic better.

food for thought, and hope you continue shooting well, or at least, to your desire and passion! :)

I'm gonna need more practice and calculate how much manual correction to make for the correct focus distance.

Sorry, but this IS the idea which I kinda have in mind. Just like Hexlord had mentioned "She look a bit like a lady during CosCon", I wanted to create a fantasy style look, with the IR effect foilage and the false colours and so on, that's why this set of clothes were suggested by me during the discussion with her. This was one of the good chance (my first) in which I get to focus mainly to do IR shots on a model.

I've remembered that you have mentioned by you that people will look ugly in IR. I don't think so cos I've seen good examples like the ones in the book, suggested by yourself. I've bought THAT book by the way. Its a good book. It even tells you how to judge a person whether if that person is suitable for IR portraits.

Although these are not well done, I was trying to implement, what I had in mind, to produce these pictures with effort, whether during the shoot, or post-processing. These are not just point and shoot. And I won't wanna spend my time there in the sun just to create point and shoot images anyway.

Maybe it is just your preference and mine, which are different. There ARE people who appreciate these effects, otherwise, I don't think she'll want me to TFCD her in this.

I'll definately try to have more chance to the effects on different poses, but for those I posted, I like them :).

You missed the point. I didn't say its not well done or anything like dat. Its ok, I rest my case.

No offence, but I really wanna do the effects based on MY idea :).

I saw Linda in person in my studio, she looks far better then the pics here. The pics here show no justice to such a lovely lady.

If you have an idea, good! But what idea you are talking about? Theres no idea. You should rethink your so called idea.
