Great shot with nice color! IMO, I think reducing the Saturation to -70 for Red Channel in H&S will looks better.

Cheers!

thanks photoexpress, the colors are starting to drive me nuts. got the following image after lowering the red and yellow channels and bumped up the blue channel.

Hi Spencer,

Try going to Hue/Saturation, go to the Yellow channel in Edit, slide the saturation to -100, lightness to +100. Then do the same to Red channel. adjust your contrast, your way. Your trees will be whiter.

Actually yellow trees also nice wat.

Yar, yellow trees nice, for this pic maybe reduce the reds can liao... ;)

wow guys all the pictures look very nice.

Cathay Hoya R72 is $244. Still considering.

Can normal pictures using PS achieved this type of color or you really need to use R72 to achieved better effect? Please advise.

Thank you.

As an alternative, why don't you try the Cokin P007 IR Filter, it's very much cheaper than the R72. It's slightly lighter than the R72, thus allowing more IR spectrum through. This will make the colours more saturated. It's 3"x3" square resin. If you wish you may buy this and also a cheap 77mm UV, remove the UV glass from the rim, cut the P007 round to size and fit into the 77mm rim. This will give you a 77mm P007 IR filter. Some of us have this through kind courtesy of one of the guys here who did it for us.

Here are some shots done with the Cokin P007 for your viewing and comparison.

Levels adjusted, no channel swapping, slight colour adjustments

These 2 shots are multiple shots combined with colour blending. One IR and one Colour.

Hi teerex,

Well done your shots is very good. Will consider to try your suggestions. I was at cathay inquiring about P007 they say don't have my sizes 77mm. They say , need to buy holder this and that and advise me to buy hoya r72. Asked for discount still insist $244.

Thanks

hmm as for as I know, there isn't a 77mm P007. P007 comes in rectangular sizes which you fit into a holder. I guess what teerex meant was that you purchase the P007 and cut it into a normal 77mm thread size filter.

When he said they didn't have the 77mm size, I believe he was referring to the adaptor required for mounting the holder onto the 77mm lens.

Cheers

Are you refering to a 77mm mounted P007?
If you are, the cokin P series are only available as a sheet of plastic.
Don't bother with buying the adapters as light will definitely leak.
I had done a few mods by cutting and shaping the P007 into a round shape and mounting it into a threaded filter ring.

If you want, just buy a P007 and a tokina 77mm UV filter (or any cheapo filter) and pass to me.
I charge a measly $15 for the mod. ;)
Lead time is 1 week....
One thing to note: Although I protect the filter with masking tape before cutting, there will still be scratches after the mod is complete. But it won't affect the photos...

Those shots I posted were done with a modded P007 from a square 3"x3" to circular 77mm diameter by Ark.
