Is this a combi IR or color IR?
Hi Hosea,

What is color IR? How does it differ from the normal IR shots?

Regards,
Gary

Hi Gary, err...I try my best to explain.:)

1) Normal IR is mono ( B&W or tint of 1 color such as greenish tint & tone, etc)
Prefer not to call it 'Normal" but Mono.
2) Color IR has more than 1 color
3) Combi is combination of a Color pix( e.g. the MRT in this case) within
a IR photo.
Most digital IR are color IR unless u convert it to Mono.

Hosea,

Thanks for your explanation.

If I understand correctly,
Combi IR must be a result of two images superimposing one or more parts of the parts of the original color picture onto the mono IR as the background.

Color IR has more than one colors, does it mean we can see fiolage as green ...
I see most IR fiolage mainly a hazy patch of grayish white.

Appreciate your clarification again.

Hi Gary,
Yes for your question on Combi IR
As for green fiolage, swap to greenish tint might be possible , take a look
at below pix, some part of green is there though not on foilage...depends on PS process.
I am yet to try on it.. coz the beauty of IR is on the foamy white foilage.
Just my opinion...:)

Hwee Chwee,
Sorry to OT on your thread..;)

Hosea,

I liked your series. Great effort placed in.

Did you take the a IR shot without the MRT, then at the same location, took another one with the MRT in colour and merge the 2 together?
