Hi guys,

Just came across this... http://www.murni.com/irfilt_0.htm

Have you ever heard of this type of filter (the IR-C) ??
It sounds interesting especially if they can make one at 58mm etc

What do you think about it.. am I reading something wrong here I don't realise :dunno:

Cheers

Looks like tokrot is using of of those. IR78THIS THREAD

Looking up the IR78 is what lead me to this.

The IR70, IR78 and IR83 all work in different sections of the IR spectrum:-

Transition wavelength: 700 nm 780 nm 830 nm

BUT.........>

The IR-C filter passes the entire IR band at an efficiency nearing 100
percent.

Is it therefore likely that the IR-C might also allow more of normal colour than the R72, yet provide a good IR :dunno:

Do I make any sense here

Cheers

Pablo,

All you need is to get the B+W 092 filter. This is a dark red filter that blocks light wavelengths below 650nm. Near infrared begins at around 700nm, so this filter will allow quite a bit of visible light (and possible color) in. The Hoya R72 blocks light below 720nm.

Cheers

Hi deadpixel,

Thanks for that info. I will look into finding one here.
Many of the IR guys have tried different filter setups and with some interesting results.

So far, the R72 seems to be the pick.
As I say," I will look for the B+W 092". It may yeild a better result than I am presently achieving.

Cheers.
