iPhone 4 is OUT!

Starhub plans seemed to be but pricer...
Btw, what about trade-in offers for 3G or 3Gs phones?

Think quite very low.. You are much better selling at those neighbourhood handphone shops, or even forums. ;)

Unfortunately my old phone is coming to 2 years in 2 months time, and it's in rather worn out condition like 6/10.

But even so, i think the handphone shops might even give you a better price. If you don't mind the effort, can just bring phone to shop and ask them how much? Trade in prices with the telco should be on their site or can call in to ask?

From my experience, trade in with operator is far better than selling it to the handphone shop. Though, mine is only Singtel, I can only confirm that base on my experience. I can't be sure about other operators.

Singtel

3G 8GB $200
3G 16GB $300
3GS 8GB $250
3GS 16GB $400
3GS 32GB $500

SingTel only gives 200 mins of talk time per mth in their iFlexi Value plan.
Whereas Starhub and M1 gives 300 mins in their equivalent plan.

Use Skype or Fring to talk. Utilise the data plan.

very dissapointed with singtel... the recontract process is so troublesome, new line was fast... bad marketing strategy... gain new customers but forget existing ones...

Weird then. I've ALWAYS goton way way way below trade in value for trade in phones as compared to ANY handphone shops out there if i sell to them cash. (They are even able to offer higher sale price if you buy a phone from them).

Sold those ericsson, SE, nokias, dopod, HTC, HP, O2, iPhone 2G, 3G & 3GS all to the shops or online. All fetching much higher prices.

Maybe different experiences? shrug. :dunno:

Nowadays, loyalty is not rewarded amymore.

Starhub is also bad, they've increased the recontract penalty from $100 to $200, while M1 and Singtel is still at $100.

maybe they are all in cahoots?

I'm getting rid of my singtel contract to swich to starhub as i watch cable tv at home n also use the broadband internet.

I wonder how many % of buyers going for 16GB and how many going for 32GB.
32GB is <$200 more expensive than 16GB.
I guess I will go for the 32GB phone. Hopefully lesser ppl will go for it, and thus more stock.

Maybe.

I was able to trade my N97 for 300. SingTel only needs the charger, data cable and the phone. They are more lenient when it comes to scratches or minor usage marks on the phone (actually, my N97 has a lot more usage marks). Shops outside sometimes would published a price, but when actual dealing is in process, they would start to ask for more, like box, manual, even comment the phone looks too old, and hence would try to lower the published price.

From my experience, SingTel would try to offer higher or more lenient in accepting the trade in, since their objective is to keep the customer. Whereas the shops outside is aiming at lowering the cost and making the maximum profit as possible. Their objectives are different.
