If you've spent all your hard earned money investing in Leica vintage cameras, you should be kicking yourself. Because while prices may increase steadily through the years, the investment returns does not significantly increase exponentially. What you should have done is invest your dollars in Russian technology, which will pay serious dividends at the end.

Maybe I should buy this now that it's at such a bargain price. You never know much much it'd be worth in 2050. You never actually own a Russian rangefinder, you merely look after it for your next generation!

For that price, personally would get a Leica more a shooter than a collector. Good luck to the TS.

Like buying a penny stock....

I rather look for value stocks.... like energy, commodities companies, but now is rightly priced, not much value ones around.

I wonder who will actually buy that camera. Even a Leica IIIf is not worth half that much!

lol i got myself a mint fed 5 before my r2a, and i only spent 250 bucks.
this is way way way way way too much haha
and i could even get myself a m6 which i wanted.

It's obvious this guy is preying on the ignorant. Looking at the price, this guy is probably photography savvy but don't dare to post it up on Clubsnap... :)

I mean... it can't possibly cost that much unless it's personally autographed by Lenin himself... :p

someone go there and post some links from clubsnap B&S to expose him? :bsmilie:

Haha! Interesting thought! But no lah... where do we draw the line of how much is overcharging? We'd not want such comments on our own B&S threads as well, which is why the moderators disabled comments on Clubsnap B&S...

But buyers should always do their homework first...

AFAIK some vintage FSU cameras do command such a price range. There are some models which are built with very very limited quantity to commemorate certain event or people during those soviet eras.

Looking from the Fed-2 there show some unique sign (top plate engravings) from those common ones. Unless I could see them on all views I couldn't tell whether it really worth this much. Unless you are the expert, coz there are always a fake expensive commemorative FSU camera all around
