HIee...
Based on my experience... the 80-200G...if used on single battery power.....with new batt. Will have sudden drainage low power if AF used often. However, i tried two battery on grip and it last me throughout the whole day shooting a corporate event without any problem.

all based on my personal use experience...

#1: HS
#2: non-HS

You are right!!, but there are so many factor too... the wind at the time and the lighting was not consistent...

But generally, they are similar if not the same!!

I don't think it draw so much power.... My last assignment on portrait with 3 models, using just this lens, we took over 450 picts using just one NP-400 battery... (lcd off, AS on 30%, flash 90%). All I do is check for exposure in the first 10 photos, then switch the LCD off and keep shooting and look at the image when I got home.

AF speed for HS & non HS is not far different... Sulhan's illustration is correct because I notice the non-HS have longer travel... but it locks on the focus pretty darn fast... no horse run if you compare with 70-210 f4. Specially in low light condition.

I have a friend who owns a SSM, he told me that the AF between HS & SSM is pretty similar, but because it is almost silent, it always feels slightly quicker on the SSM.

I have no luck of getting a SSM yet... but hopefull will get a chance to own it soon..

Hi guys..

My friend just got an old new stock from the closed down shop in Sydney... Original price is A$2300 in Sydney... but he got it for A$1600, so for a quick sale before christmas, he is selling it for A$1700 + p&h.

Its not cheap by the way... its A$1700 + p&h = S$2250 include postage and charges.

I didn't ask him to send it to me, because I don't think I can sell it for that price.... unless someone is really interested on the lens...

It basically has everything ( box, case, manual) and a 1 year warranty (KM Aust warranty) on the lens...

If anyone interested, let me know and I can arrange something for you...

NOTE: I don't earn anything from this one... so just think about doing a favour for those who lust for this lens... so please don't ask me for a discount...

Regards,

Hart
