Are we discussing the lice or the camera now? :dunno:
Anyway, about the spores - yes, if they're there, the dry cab does not get rid of them. It just inhibits their growth. Spores can survive in 'hibernation' mode for years. i read that UV kills them though, which is why a frequently used lens (assuming it goes out into the sun now and then) is unlikely to get fungus.
Roosevelt, get rid of that lice.
- If it secretes any chemicals and eats away any mirror/glass coatings, it will costs you a LOT more to recoat... more than the camera.
- If it so happens to move into the shutter/mirror path, itcan cause a jam or breakdown. Plus you have to clean up the insect juice sprayed all over your cam.
- If you can still see it in the viewfinder, it's probably ok, but one day when you don't see it anymore, well ... can be anywhere in the cam.
BTW, if you can see it, it's probably in the camera, not in the lens.
