With all the excitement about IR. I am sure we could be seeing more IR photo being posted here is CS. comeon pple, share your IR picture, especially those that are shot in film. this will give us a real taste of what IR is all about. the color it render will surely show another aspect of photography.

anyway will start a list of pple interested in a IR outing. my suggestion is to have a dicuession about IR first so that we will have a general understanding. then we shall move on to SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT

interested for IR discuession

I'm in, can we take the time as suggested time. Let's be open to have it at a convenient time so as to get as many people as possible.

Also those who have prints of IR pictures, digital or film can bring along to show.

Me join in the group, let's rock !

Well, I can certainly confirm that the Hoya R72 will work on the 20D. I can also confirm that the kit lens can be used to take quite decent IR photos on the 20D as well.

Here's a 'coloured' IR shot I took today with this combo:

There are also a couple more posted in the Canon sub-forum here:

Good, let's start with five persons first. Beginners are all welcome, but must commit with big dream to promote IR after becoming expert :)

That's fine. So can we confirm date/time/venue.

That's why I love the coloured IR pics from the Canon DSLRs. They look so familiar and yet so surrealistic.

Besides white foliage, IR photography can also produce images that turn green foliage into various shades of red. These are the kind of images that would be produced if KODAK EKTACHROME Professional Infrared EIR (Colour Infrared Slide film) is used.

It is possible to post-process IR images taken by digicams like Nikon Coolpix 950 (with Hoya R72 filter of course) to make the almost B&W IR images look like those produced by the Kodak Ektachrome EIR transparencies.

I have just learned the technique and these 2 pics are the result. I have combined them with the actual coloured images for better comparison. Those who shoot IR pics with film cameras, like IRman perhaps, might have come across such IR slide images and could maybe let me know if the colours of my post-processed digital IR pics really do resemble those of the Kodak Ektachrome EIR ones.

Hope you guys like them anyway. If the images are resized too small by Clubsnap's server, larger size versions can be found here:
