Hi Photographers,
I managed to convert a French website into English language for information on Dimage A2

Minolta Dimâge A2: 8 Mpix!
In a few days, at the time of the LDC, Minolta will present a new version of current Dimâge A1: Dimâge A2. With the program, 8 mégapixels and always the zoom 28-200mm... stabilized! First glance on the most secret information of the moment.
Officially, nothing filters and, at Minolta France, become recently Konica-Minolta, one takes care well not to make the least comment on the apparatus which will be one of the whooping-coughs of next the LDC, new Dimâge A2.
However, on forums Internet of the whole world, the rumours multiply. Certain whimsical, others perfectly reliable, such these pages recovered by our Readers-fouineurs in particular in Switzerland and Austria.
All started already two months ago, by serious rumours concerning the adoption by Minolta of sensor 8 mégapixels of Sony, already seen on F828. It should be said that there did not need a diploma of astrology to devote itself to similar prediction: by looking at Dimâge A1, it was obvious that it was enough to graft the sensor 8 Mpix Sony to him to make of it A2 with the style of the day.
Then the first serious escapes started to arrive. Minolta the USA made a pretty blunder while slipping, in a table of compatibility, the two small A2 letters, just behind A1. First pearl, very quickly joined by the Swiss sites of mail order trading which straightforwardly registered A2 with their catalogue, going until giving a date of marketing and a price.
For those which would not have followed (certain pages were quickly withdrawn), the whole world thus had confirmation, as of mid-January, which the A2 future would leave in March and would cost between 1000 and 1100.
The most beautiful pearl however has just fallen: it acts of a page of pub already realized by Konica-Minolta Austria, which reveals in an unquestionable way from now on the basic specifications of A2:
- CCC 8 mégapixels
- stabilizer of images
- autofocus predictive 3d with 11 beaches of analysis
- zoom APO 28-200mm (24x36 equivalent)
- food by accumulator Lithium-Ion
In light, A2 is thus the same one as A1, but with a more muscular sensor, better reaction times, a food of race. If one considers the excellent results obtained by Dimâge A1 in new test Ci-Lab published in our n°261, one can thus place large hopes on this A2 future... while hoping that its zoom, very powerful with the sensor 5 Mpix, holds the road with the 8Mpix.
It is not known if the agency of pub which carried out this advertisement were informed of the preceding campaigns carried out in France for Nikon, but a thing is sure: the young lady Minolta 8 million pixels has indeed more arguments than both soeurettes Nikon which, a few months ago, showed by the image the difference between 2 and 5 million pixels (alles, a small smile!).
SOON OFFICIAL INFORMATION
This information is not obviously any official, Minolta having chosen to maintain the secrecy to the opening of the LDC. One will not prevent us however from noticing that the secrecy flees of everywhere and that it becomes an open secret! We will relay official information as soon as Minolta reveals it.
