Incredible India: Memories in images

but i do note a certain style. the leveling is pushed somehow. while the silhouette intended is not affected, there is also a significant degree of black shadows in the portraits that does not show much details. usually if the screen is not calibrated, some of the details in the shadows may not show up, but my screen is calibrated. so while the colors is vibrant, the shadow is too black in the portraits in my opinion. and becos it happens in all the photos, i think it is not a mistake but rather a style, so wonder what satya thinks abt it.

as for #20, it is the most interesting becos the color contrast is very high, considering that ts said it is taken in hot sun. considering that the boys got to squint their eyes, i guess it is probably obvious that satya is standing in front of the sun to shoot them well-illuminated with a nice blue sky whereas they are facing him and the sun behind him.... however with the strong contrast, the first min i look before reading is i thought the 4 person is being cut and paste onto the background, accounting for the difference in size of head. guess it is an illusion i have. but the impact of such a shot is interesting. what focal length did you shoot at?

Well as you said i guess its just my style. ive always loved vibrant colors and high contrast. i play a lot with light.

And about the 4 kids.. i just liked the way they looked in my frame.. there were these 4 cute heads in a pattern.. and the fort in the background was looking smaller than the smallest kid's head. In a subtle way i just felt a child's brain was way "more significant" than the huge fort. As u can see the colors of their uniform is brown.. and very contrasting to the blue sky.. and like i mentioned earlier.. i look for high contrast in color. This shot was probably shot at f8 1/500 if i recall correctly.

India has so far been known for its amazing architecture, forts, palaces.. but today its the IT professionals who stand as an icon for India. In this picture both icons were captured. This makes the photograph more meaningful to me.

Glad to know you found my photos interesting. This is what sharing is all about. Will post more soon.

BTW i just checked your series and love your photographs.. you have a keen eye on capturing the images of the "real" India which is not an easy thing to do. Kudos to that!
