#6 and #7 are really good. So you were there for a month.. Is it ok if you share your rough expenditure? =D Looks very interesting. Tempting.

Thanks for sharing such beautiful travel photos, dude.

(And I didn't know the Richard Gere ad was really shot in India, heh. You learn something new everyday!)

It didnt really cost much. Let me break it down this way. For a whole month

Flight - 500
Trains & buses - 300-350
Accommodation - 400
Food - 400 (1. its damn cheap and 2. its stupid to go to india n try to save on food)

These are the basics.. so around 1800 total is decent...Apart from that i spent:

Misc - 1000 (shopping.. but this depends on how much u wanna spend)

Finally.. at the end of the month ull have experienced the richest land in terms of culture in the world.. and every penny would be worth it. If u think of travelling to India..

i have a crucial suggestion.. In India expect the unexpected... most of the time things happen quite the opposite of what u planned.. .. go with the flow and ull enjoy the ride

Wow, that is really cheap!

For a month, that is. Safety wise, is it relatively ok? Yes? I mean, other than the common sense stuff.

4. On the Rise

India-P049.jpg

this is the winner.

but minor points, dust in top right (sky) and top centre (building). distracting details (not sure what is that) in the shadow below left.

Very nice colleciton of pics :D Looks like you really enjoyed the trip :)

Stunning shots. What camera/lens did you use?

Safety wise is relatively ok.. as long as u dont stray into outskirts of the city at night. As a tip learn a few common words/sentences in hindi... it really impresses the locals..buy some pens and give out to kids.. u wont fork out much and they will be damn happy.. pens are damn cheap (approx 5c per pen). They will automatically guide u well after that!

yea.. i did.. it was beyond expectations.. maybe u should go for a trip as well!

Stunning shots. What camera/lens did you use?
D70/kitlens/50mm/70-300
but really its not too much about the camera or lens.. its how one frames the pictures and works with perspectives

these are beautiful images! please share more!

yea.. am not at home right now.. will post more in a while :)

Here are some more. Sorry if some photos have slight dust.. will take care of them asap.

Love #13, love is indeed in the air for that picture.

Almost-perfect use of silhouette, and I only say almost-perfect because I don't believe in perfection.

Candid shot of someone else or?

Like promised here are some more! I am adding some details that you might be keen on knowing.

16. Rising beyond Expectations

India-P055.jpg

On the Grand Trunk Highway (The oldest and longest major road of India with 80,000 polluting trucks everyday) rises this tree which caught my attention. With no leaves it fights so much pollution all around and still rises beyond expectations.

17. In a hurry

India-P011.jpg

A waiter hurries past to get last orders.

18. Kathak: Dance for the Kings

DSC_3601.jpg

The most glorified dance of North India, especially in honor of kings, this dance is characterized by fast footwork (tatkar), spins (chakkar) and innovative use of feelings (bhav). Above is the image of a spin.

19. Welcome with a smile

India-P021.jpg

Welcoming us to Udaipur was this Sarangi(a sort of violin)player who was more than happy to play a solo piece for our entertainment. He then took out a CD with his compiled songss. The happiness on his face was too precious not to capture. Hence the above photograph.

20. The future IT Professionals

India-L040.jpg

Behind the Mehrangarh Fort of Jodhpur I found 4 kids with their bags walking to school in the HOT sun. Fascinated by cameras they immediately started posing. Upon asking them what they wanted to be when they grew up.. they said.. Computer Engineer.. as if it was instilled in all of them. Moved.. I gave each of them a pen and took this shot.

India is so versatile that you can find anything and everything here.. One must go discover India for oneself to understand the richness of this wonderful land.

Hope you guys enjoyed the pics. Thanks for the feedback. Enjoy!

Cheers,
Satya
