Sorry for the really late response, have not been logging in for some time.

I can't remember exactly the respective number of days spent on each stop.

The main stops are listed on page 1 and covered over 14 days. But it also depends on the hours of daylights you have at your disposal while you are there.

Personally, I would recommend more days for Grundarfjorour.

There is basically one main highway for traveling, the choice would mainly be between choosing between the clockwise or anti-clockwise direction.

Not sure if the answers are too vague, let me know if you require other information. :)

Was taking pictures of Mt Kirkjufell when I saw another person shuttling to and from his vehicle lugging around his tripod and camera.

Struck up a conversation with him and his wife and realised that he owns a photo gallery in Reykjavik; and that I was actually pouring over his amazing online collection prior to my trip to Iceland!

Örvar (his name) was really generous with information on photographic opportunities in the area and shared that this spot is a wonderful place to wait for the northern lights, and that he might do a stake out later this evening.

My friends and I returned to the place after dinner to look out for the northern lights.

Örvar didn't appear in our hour or so of waiting (think its too early for him), but we were glad the northern lights did.

The streak of lights at the bottom belonged to a car speeding past as the lights danced overhead.

ah!!i happened to meet Orvar's wife in Reykjavik in their shop!
what a coincidence!

Was it difficult to drive in snow and left hand drive ?
Using map to drive or gps ? Will i get lost easily ?
going for 4 days. needs all kinds of tips !

Sorry for the late reply.

Driving around is extremely easy with GPS. Traffic outside the city is really minimal and most of the times you have the whole stretch of road to yourself. Its not difficult to get used to left hand drive.

Weather wise, I suppose it depends on if you are going in mid winter or the shoulder. More importantly is to check for news of road closures (internet) before setting off every morning.
