In Hong Kong & Macau

very inspiring photos..

Lovely inspiring series, and great street shots as usual
Will be visiting HK again in september for a week, will probably drop by Macau / Shenzhen. As it is supposed to be more shopping oriented, me and my wife booked a hotel near Mongkok instead. Btw very envious of ur guesthouse stay, would have been quite an experience with good photog opportunities.

Thanks guys. You are right about the photo opportunities in Chungking, Ryan; the place was a maze to navigate and is a mini united nations. But I didn't go beyond smiling and nodding at the residents of the place, some who can be quite surly... maybe next time when I get the feel of the place.

Mongkok is indeed an excellent choice if shopping comes first, would be great to see your interpretation of the Hong Kong scenes when you get back.

Thanks. :) Not much finesse involved on my part, just been patient and stay at a spot for a while and keeping eyes open for things.

Some Korean(?) band being mobbed by HK fans at the Avenue of Stars. The poor guys seemed torn between entertaining the fans and enjoying the Hong Kong harbour view. Perhaps the only way they can do this in peace would be to opt for a helicopter tour.

Thanks guys. The temple is filled with incense and so it was quite a luxury to be able to take your time and compose for the light rays. Only thing that was challenging was to keep the many other photographers out of the frame.

PS: Treetrunk, theres no #8 yet. You referring to the last one #7? :)

Oops. Blur me.:embrass: Yup, its #7.:D

Going to camp here. Don't want to miss out the rest of your wonderful series.:)

It was my first time there also, maybe you guys can try to catch the light show at 8pm, it was cancelled on both nights I tried, due to bad weather.

Cemetery wise, you mean those found on the slopes of hills? Better be careful, Hong Kong people can be quite superstitious, don't commit any taboo to offend them (referring to those living relatives, not the dead) :).

The light show is of the same view as photo #1 but (I heard) with lasers and flashing lights from the buildings.

Good public place to view would be from the Avenue of Stars or the Kowloon side pier.

Came across this violin player near the Avenue of Stars, not sure why he would mask his eyes to the scene in front of him.

And yes, he did play 东方之珠, and the music became suddenly more relevant for me than before.

If I may guess : this was taken at Tsim Sha Tsui near the Star Ferry terminal when you exit to the right hand side if you are taking ferry from Central or Wan Chai.
