Flash cute right ? :)
Must be the smallest swivel-and-tilt flash in the world !

It will be nice if the flash comes in white colour too.. matching

Yes, I wish it came in white too. But it seems that only the 3 lenses currently released come in the different colours to match the bodies. Even the 10 -100mm lens is available in black only. So if anyone is interested in playing matche-matche with camera body and accessories, then they would have no choice but to choose only the black body.

Unfortunately, I did not like the matt black coloured V1 and preferred the shinier white body which seems to be very Apple-inspired if matched with some of the stylish looking white-coloured accessories still in the pipeline. :(

Nice, How much did you get the flash for?

1/60s f/5.3 at 28.6mm ISO 3200

With an aperture range of f/4.5-5.6, this lens is too dark to use at night. In a dimly lit environment, can't even see the image on the LCD screen to focus on. So this shot had to be taken in the Smart Photo Selector mode where the flash gives off a continuous video light to help in the focusing and to light up the subject.

What's really good about this lens is that it is absolutely silent when zooming and focusing... that's why it is meant to be a video lens I suppose. Even though I had only tried it out at night in not so good shooting environment, I get the feeling that this lens is really sharp for a 10x zoom lens. I will confirm this when I test it out in better shooting conditions in broad daylight.

They are not ooc jpegs unfortunately... but that's because I never shoot jpeg if I can shoot RAW with any camera. These were RAW images converted/processed with the latest version of Capture NX2. I find that only Nikon knows how to process their own RAW images the way they were meant to look. There's usually no need for further post-processing after running the RAW images through Capture NX2. Also, it seems that the cameras (V1 & J1) do not carry out any lens corrections for distortions and Capture NX2 does. The free and bundled Viewer NX does not do that though. :)

Impressive batch of photos again.
Even though they were not ooc images, but with some pp applied it totally just brought out what the cam is able to do.

Seems that you have almost bought their their range of accessories available, 3 lenses and the flash.

Able to show some of the interesting features in the camera too? I believe most pp, would be quite intrigued by it. :)

i see, its still great to see/know that the camera's are capable of this kind of dynamic range and colour.. im really interested in the system now, but budget constraints will keep me waiting for awhile more. perhaps i ll go for the 2nd gen cameras and a 50mm eqv when they release one. thanks again for sharing, appreciate it

A heartfelt thanks for posting these pictures. My wife just got the 2 lens kit for me and I was a little bummed knowing that Nikon 1 has the smallest sensor among the 4/3. After seeing your pics, it really just reminds me that when I take a picture 90% of my thought is on composition not on the technicals. And so far(4days) this baby has been keeping me snapping all day long and I have no complains!(besides low light capabilities)

You're welcome.
Did you get the white or black set?
As for low light capabilities, it helps if you have the external flash and use the Smart Photo Selector mode to take the shots. Even ISO 3200 comes out very well in that mode. ;)

Looking forward to the other accessories like the GPS module and macro and fisheye lenses if any.
The other features unique to the Nikon 1 are smart photo selector (which I had already demonstrated), high speed still photography up to 60 fps using the elctronic shutter, slow motion video, and motion snapshot modes. The electronic shutter is capable of speed up to an unbelieveable 1/16,000s.

I have tested out the motion snapshot just to see what the end results. It takes 1 sec of slow motion video cilip followed by a final still image. Both have to be ran through the bundled Short Movie Creator software to produce the final video clip with a small selection of framing choices. Don't really know what this is good for though... maybe for blogs and wedding albums perhaps.

Haven't tried out the high speed photography mode yet but will do so if there is a suitable subject to try it out on. Probably something similar to those high speed cameras from Casio I suppose.

I got the black set, or rather my wife got me the black set :) I do have the flash, but because it is small and not as powerful, bounce is tough to achieve. And I don't think they are making mini diffusers. Thought of making one DIY(just need to find a mini Tupperware) :) will definitely try out the smart selector mode!

Any Nikon 1 owners want to sell their 30-100, please text me at 98154477. :)

Nice flowers, nice pictures!!! Thanks for sharing!!! You must be laughing at those who were carrying heavy DSLRs at the conference... =D

Great sharing tomcat.
I'm considering this set or just get the P7100. Price is the factor. But than I still my consider installment, since credit card had drop to 3%.
Mind sharing the lag time between shots?
Thanks.
