I realised I might have come across a little blunt in my previous post, but rest assure I come in peace

No doubt those are good intentions :). I haven't seen the thread in question, nor am I aware of what transpired, but I have a few questions based on your reply. Was what you did really a mistake? Why did you have to provide a detailed write-up to explain a picture that you took? I can understand how it might be "mis-interpreted" otherwise, but did you actually owe these people an explanation?

I feel that by promoting such behaviour it would be as if we were guilty until proven innocent. Any picture we post up we need to explain and clarify in order not to cause "misunderstandings". What happened to benefit of doubt? What happened to tolerance and understanding?

on the stuff about religious harmony, i believe abit more sensitive of people's feeling goes a long way.

either provide enough writeup on what you want to express through the images you post or if you want a discussion, pls do it face to face.

look at me mis-interpretation on octarine's post.

also, other than religon, sensitive issue like race should also be handle with care. i had brought up question on low participation rate of our malay friends after attending the opening ceremony of nape recently and had a private with a individual after posting. however, the rest were not aware of the private discussion that we had and caused some mis-understanding too.

another mistake made by me for not being clear on dicsussing sensitive issues.

also, i had shot some religion's maga event and believe me, some stuff will cause social unrest if not riot. so i have learn to be more specific on some issues than to let others guess my intention.

it has been highlighted to the relevant moderators. next time, folks, you can use the 'report bad post' function (the little warning triangle) to highlight such posts rather than putting it up on FAQs.

it is the holidays. as such, pls expect a slower-than-usual response by us. (we all do have families, you know... heh)

meantime, i suggest everyone take a deep breath, go out, and kindly refrain from adding more salt to the thread? CS guidelines are very clear abt religion/race/politics - it has no place here. and, IMO, i think the TS knows EXACTLY wat he/she is doing when he/she took the pic... artistic license or no artistic license.

 Uh... Folks? Photography is like any other art form. It's completely subjective and open to interpretation. I believe censorship should be kept to a minimum. This is a photography forum not some kinda police state and it's not like the photo is vulgar or in bad taste. In fact, what seems obscene to some might be fine with others. To each his own.

go and do whatever you like in private.
