Images from the X100 (not discussion)

The X100, taken with NEX-5

Amount of detail captured is very satisfying, but I would still prefer to shoot RAW for fine-tuned noise control. As for using this camera: In short, this is not exactly a camera for everyone - there is a learning curve. It could be difficult to use in the beginning due to the overload of buttons and the inconsistency with some menu options. However, image quality wise it is really great from something so compact - so really, this camera is designed to compete with the Leica X1.

I will be writing a full review soon. Also waiting for ACR/LR support from Adobe...

Hi may i know when bought new is there hotshoe cap/cover included?? mine dont have and i searched youtube people unboxing also dun hv...but why this pics hv...lolxx can let me know? thx

You can get it from camera shops easily, each should only cost a few dollars.

Seriously, with the type of pics you got from the X100s, I think you should just stick with it. You seem to have "mastered" it and it's delivering some pretty good shots. Can use the money for a good holiday :)

Agreed. My x100 will be with me never apart. Nice little cam.

haha, thank you so much ;) I love the fuji rendition a lot more than sony's. but really don't like it being too soft at f2. might try the rx1 and decide if i want to keep it first :o

Just in case any one is thinking that they must upgrade to the X100S cos the X100 may perhaps be at the end of its useful life may I be allowed to post some photos taken by a soundman at a play rehearsal that may prove that the old X100 is still a very competent and good working camera?

We sometimes do get carried away in wanting to have the latest and best gears without much thought to the creative content of our craft. Play is set in the past time era so the photographer shot in B&W and added noise to make it realistic to that period. Rem the photographer is a soundman and these are his hobby shots which is what I think is one of the strengths of the humble X100 - it allows you to create really nice pictures from such a small and compact package.
