Images from the X100 (not discussion)

Yes. No effect. It is up to tomcat to adjust his settings in his Silkypix. Until he discloses his RAW developer settings.

I have already disclosed the way I developed the RAW images in the first post. ;)

I normally don't like the way SilkyPix works if it is bundled as a dedicated RAW converter for a particular camera. I would expect a dedicated RAW converter to be able to produce a jpeg image from RAW similar to the same image if it was shot in jpeg out of camera eg Capture NX2 for Nikon, Olympus Viewer 2 for Olympus FT and m43. In the case of SilkyPix for the X100, the default settings may not represent the original jpeg settings of the image as set on the camera.

For the X100, I do feel that the SilkyPix implementation seems to be better than that for the Panasonic cameras like LX5, GF1, GF2, etc in reproducing the jpeg colour scheme though.

Anyway, for the X100 RAW images, my preferred RAW conversion settings are:
Exposure: Auto (if it looks better)
Colour: V1
Sharpness: Emphatic or Exaggerate Sharp
Highlight Controller: Luminance Priority and pull the Dynamic Range lever towards the right

I bought the same bag too. This bag is however a bit too small to cram in both the hood and the spare battery especially if a filter is mounted on the camera via the lens adapter.

I got myself a slim B+W filter and I did not get the hood. Just the adaptor only. I feel with the hood it makes the whole camera more conspicuous. ;)

Brought the X100 to NSP's rally last night..

Yeah I too got my X100 only last week and I've been fooling with it ever since. It's a great little camera and it fits nicely as I carry both this and my modified nex5 out.
The best combo for walking around.

Very impressive series. Like especially the hot air balloon series.

A work of a skillful photographer with a equally capable camera. Did you shoot in JPEG only?

Thanks bro. The hot air balloon is a must try if you visit Cappadocia in Turkey. I shot all the photos in JPEG with some slight adjustments in levels for some photos.

Thanks bro for the info. Just as I guessed, shooting in JPEG is the best way to get that signature Fuji colors in your Turkey pics. Do continue to post more!

Just got the camera before spending 3 days in Bangkok... Shot at Chatuchak.

Wow, that's pretty lazy from Fuji.

So today is polling day and I decided just to have some fun with my X100 to do some Infrared and Long Exposure work. For Long Exposure, it is not too bad however for IR I will still need to do some tweaking.
Here are two shots and which both I converted to mono chrome using Silver Efex Pro in CS3..

#1 - Long Exposure using B+W ND110 77mm

#2 - Infrared photography using Hoya R72 52mm

#3 - How the set-up looks like :)
