Images from Sigma 35mm f1.4 dg

Wondering if anyone here have issues with this lens and D800 combi.

Initially, when I use the center focus point of my D800, the focus is spot on. Accurate focusing wide open. However, if I use the extreme right focus point, it will definitely front focuses. Even at f8 it makes no difference.

A few days later, I tried on this lens again. Now, even when I use the center focus point. It doesn't focus as well already.

Will definitely bring in for calibration. Wonder if anyone experience similar situation.

I had the same issue with the 35/1.4 lens on my D7000. Spot on on center focus point but inaccurate on both extremes left/right focus point. I tried the Sigma 17-50/2.8 lens on D7000 and D7100 at the camera store, the zoom lens has the same problems as well. I upgraded the firmware of the 35/1.4 using the USB dock, it seems to have focused correctly this time around, but I am still nervous to use extreme focusing points. I have been playing around with it for the last 2 weeks since I have upgraded the firmware, so far so good and it's spot on.

How much did it cost to buy the USB dock and lens?

i had opposite results of you after the 35 1.4 firmware update. the corner AF points seem more reliable then before the update with my 5D3

If I do not have the docking station where can I have the lens firmware upgrade?

The 16 as showed on the lens. Other than the minimum aperture, does it serves any other function

$860 for this lens(Pentax) in Hong Kong. Worth it?

This is now the best lens I've ever owned. Move over my other 5 L lenses! This lens paired with the canon 6D is quite possibly the perfect package. I had so many of the "wow" moments after reviewing my shots with this lens. I may have a good copy of the lens, so didnt experience any problems. The pictures are the sharpest I've ever seen and the bokeh is so smooth. Makes my 70-200mm look ordinary.I can't advise enough, just get it! Your photos will turn amazing even if u dont improve yourself :) Turned out to be a superb investment :)

That is called a depth if field gauge.

Looking at the pic, it tells you that at F16, everthing from about 1.25m to infinity will be in focus.

$1150 as of 4th Mar - Cathay Photo

Same here, thinking of getting from Hkg. Anyone has any idea what is the price in Hong Kong

Is it worth it to buy extra $100 more for a set with warranty or it's okay to get grey sets?

Because even with warranty, we bring to service centre, we still need to pay for calibration right?

Sigma service center told me local set with warranty will get 2 free lens calibration.

Finally I got my new Sigma f1.4 DG. So happy and satisfied with the lens and had been reading this lens for the past 5 months. Indeed a good lens for that pricing. Also know what focal length I wanted for travelling and general purpose shots. Love the sharpness and important is the bokehlicious of this lens. Very good for night shots too ^^

Does anyone encounter any issue with the lens having front focus when using the outer AF points? My copy when used with the center AF point is tack sharp but once I shift the AF point off center, the front focus is so bad at every other AF points that I need to MA it to +20 and turn MA off when shooting at center AF point again. Went to Sigma service centre today and the technician acknowledged the problem after several testing at several F stop. Camera used is Canon1DX.

Here's a picture to share taken with the lens at F/2.0. This lens may have some issues with my camera body but that is not stopping it from being a solid performer! :)
