Images from Sigma 35mm f1.4 dg

I think any lens with aperture this wide will cause oof even by the smallest movement from out body or the subject, so using the other focus points will be a better choice. Correct me if I'm wrong.. It's almost like take macro slight movement will cause the subject to be oof..

Canon 100D. It is almost the same if I view my original file on my computer.

"Cos its much sharper than my copy out from D700"......you mean my copy is still sharper than your copy from D700?

Yeah, that photo of yours showing the baby is so sharp.

Does Anyone know if the latest batch still have the Fwd/Backward focusing issues on the D800/D4?

Errrr... My earlier batch unit does not have any focus issues on the D800 or the D4.

To me this sounds like focus and recompose is a bad idea with this lens.

It is not because of this lens. But because at F1.4, the DOF is very shallow. Any error of mistake is very probable when u focus and recompose. Therefore good techniques is required for sharp photo.

I would stop down a few stops for better focus and sharpness. Using F1.4 does not mean you can get the sharpest images.

I just sent my lens to Sigma for calibration. It is front focusing issue.

I was told that I have 2 free calibration. I have used up 1 of them :(

Can buy the calibration dock and do it unlimited times to your hearts desire.

Jokes aside the dock is a good investment for future lens purchases

Do you need to bring the camera body you are using for them to calibrate the lens ? So once calibrated, it should work without issues with other bodies ? Thanks.

Depends on if your other bodies are in the same factory specs/tolerances as the current body that matches with the lens
