Just wondering...is it only possible to claim GST at the airport? how about customs at the causeway?

As long as you are leaving Singapore through the legal way, you should be able to claim since there are ways customs ppl there, unless you swim out of Singapore....then I dunno... :dunno:

yah...hopefully by tonight, someone will post some pix...

Nice going bro!

I too tried out the 30D at the IT Show. As a 350D user, I felt the mirror swing action when taking the picture was rather violent compared to the 350D. The *klannggg* shook so violently I suspect mirror-lockup would be necessary for long focal length shots.

What was priceless though, was the facial reaction of a Nikon D200 user who tried the 30D at the Canon booth. His face was one of that "Huh? Wat da hell was dat??!?!" kinda face, LOL! Too bad I didn't have my 350D around :bsmilie:

:bsmilie: :bsmilie: It's the characteristic of the Canon EOS 20D & 30D cameras....:bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Was there at the show and tried it for a few seconds. There was a crowd so didn't really want to hog the camera. Took a few pics of the Canon models with my CF. The shutter is loud. I was shocked. It is clearly different from my 300D and no where close to the silent ops of my 33.

OK, the deal I was given.

No Printer - $100 off
No CF Card - $80 off

Final price = 2499 - 100 - 160 = 2239. I tell them I also don't want the book and voucher and bags but the lady says that's 'worthless'. Can pay by UOB CC 0% installment. I'll suggest you guys wait a bit for the hype to cool down.

Well, I almost buy it on the spot .... :P

Regards,
JK

a.. just went there... nearly bought the camera.. will think about it seriously tonight.
only UOB have 12month 0% installment.
also one girl staff quoted my another package:
buy the 30D body at 2499 but without the printer n the printer bag, then add another $199 for a 28mm-105mm lens and one more 1Gmemory card.
meaning total freebies are 3 1G memory cards, camera bag, lens workbook and voucher worth $80.

if i dun want the memory card, 1 card will get $80discount each from the sale price.
if just get the body with 28mm-105mm lens without memory cards, price will be $2458.

if u get the normal package 30D with kit lens at $2699, u will get discount of $100 if u dun want the printer, $80each for the memory cards.
Yup, the shutter noise is about the same as 20D.... some like it, some dun... heh.

It won't be affected. The only problem that there won't be any warranty in Singapore :D

haha....lots of beta testers. Can't wait to hear the feedback!!! Any bets on when the first firmware update will appear? I'd say in about 4weeks time......No honestly though, congrats to all the new owners!!!

Love the camera, at first when I asked about the camera, I've been told it will be available tomorrow.. then they said that the stock just arrived, they need time to prepare it.. but after that they said OK and I got it

So is sounds (literally) like the 10D shutter is better damped than either that of the 20D or 30D. Could the higher shooting rate account for this?

Did anyone here compare it to a Nikon D200 shutter action?

Thanks.

Might as well save the hassle unless one goes there very often. ;)
