i cant find my receipt for now, but if im not wrong the price of G20 is ard $10 to at most $20 more than G10. The $190 I paid included the G20.
I went for the G20 cos its slightly bigger and more stable, my rationale was to get greater stability/security since the difference isnt very significant. I was quite glad I bought the G20 cos, as mentioned before, it could hold a gripped 7D+flash+24-105 firmly. The last thing u wan is the whole setup landing on the floor.. Hope this helps

Not a D7000 user but I use Lightroom since it has just about everything a photographer needs, very accessible editing functions and organises your photos as well (in CS5 you have to use Bridge to do that, and edit in Photoshop: troublesome). I seldom need to use Photoshop unless I'm doing work with masking, or need layers for reasons other than non-destructive editing (Lightroom always does non-destructive editing: it shows you a preview of the image if you apply the settings you change, then apply all of them when you "export" the photos). Some people say Photoshop is better for cloning work, but I prefer Lightroom as I can easily change the sample area to clone from, if I don't like what Lightroom automatically gives me.

I don't usually process large chunks of images, very minimal batch processing so I stick to Photoshop for any tweaks. Also mainly because of the need for me to add frames with date & location descriptions on my images

yep, LR is also my choice.. v3.3 includes RAW for D7k.. I just got an upgrade sometimes back..
I also have CS5, but not much of a use, unless i want to do some serious layering or cloning.. heck, LR lets me do 95% of the work.. only touch-ups with CS5.. It is also good for organizing photos.. Anyway, i think most of the PP softwares have already included d7k RAW in it.. I do like captureNX ability to edit only part of the photos only (can't rmbr what it's called)..
congrats to all who just got their d7k! too bad i have sold its grand daddy, the d70.. moving back to film now, RF..

Don't get the 18-55, your 18-105 has more range. I think the IQ is around the same.

Thought the 18-55mm or 16-85mm will take sharper shots at closer distances??
Btw, Should i even consider FX lenses or should i just consider just the DX lenses?

The 16-85 has very good reviews and is probably sharper than the 18-55 or the 18-105, but 18-55 and 18-105 should be around the same; they never really take sharp shots at close distances (at least without the help of some macro converters like extension tubes or reverse mounting)
About DX or FX lenses, just go for the DX lenses. If you switch to FX next time, you can always sell away the DX lenses and buy the FX lenses. Unless it's a 70-200 f2.8, where there are not many DX alternatives available now.
