i was hunting for C-41 processing BnW film when i came across the above-mentioned brand on bhphotovideo. normally, i would use the Kodak BW400CN BnW film. now... i know what some purists would say about using C-41 BnW film versus the good o'l BnW film. personally, i would agree too (i like neopans). however, due to time constraints and family committments, i have to stick to using C-41 BnW film for the sheer convenience of getting it developed at the neighbourhood shops.

and yes... i do and have done developing at home. and no... i can't afford the time and space to store all the stuff. chemicals and kids dun mix.

has anyone used the ilford version before? thot i like to get some views b4 getting a couple of rolls from bhphotovideo. :)

No need to buy from BHP. Ruby got a lot in stock. I have been getting some recently because Kodak CN not avail in 120 recently.

oh? cool. but are their prices any better than bhp? cos i know ruby does charge a wee bit of premium for BnW... :embrass:

how's the ilford like? thot of ordering one brick of 10 from bhp.

i use alot of xp2
i really enjoy using it very much

the xp2 negative is more "neutral "
the kodak 400CN negative has an orange mask to it (i believe that is the right word)
sometimes, the 400cn is harder to scan and colour correct

i recommend shooting the xp2 at iso200 else it will be very grainny
enjoy =)

As ronang mentioned, Ruby does sell XP2. My experience with the film is the opposite from haagen_dazs. Somehow it could be due to the place I got it processed; my XP2 prints turned out with an orange tinge.

That being said, it is not as though the tinge was really that bad and I will certainly not hesitate to use it when I am lazy to develop my own black and white.
